Michelle Bernier – Tour Ensemble Director, Modern, Jazz, Ballet, Tap
“Michelle Bernier was born and raised in Maine, and has been dancing since age 7. Her early training was deeply rooted in ballet and jazz, with bits of tap, musical theater, and ballroom dance mixed in along the way. She went on to study dance at Skidmore College, the University of South Florida, the University of Southern Maine, and the Bates Dance Festival, under such wonderful folks as Jeanne Brescianni, Michael Foley, John Parks, Nancy Salmon, and members of Doug Varone and Dancers. Through dancing in college, Michelle became acquainted with, and eventually fell in love with, the art of modern dance, and has focused her performance and choreography career in that direction ever since. In Maine, Michelle danced as a soloist with the Portland Symphony Orchestra and was a member of Collective Motion, a contemporary dance company based in Portland, Maine, and her choreography has been seen at many venues throughout that state. Since relocating to Boulder, Michelle has been performing with Life/Art Dance Ensemble in Denver and Blue Moon Dance Company in Boulder, as well as teaching ballet, tap, jazz, modern, leaps and turns, and strength and flexibility at studios throughout Colorado.
Teaching at Airborne since 2011, her latest endeavor has been taking on the role of Tour Ensemble Director, toward which she applies her utmost passion and effort to maintain a fun, creative collective for our young non-competitive performers, and a venue for them to gain valuable community-based volunteer performance experience. She finds joy every day in the faces of her students as they reach their goals and soar beyond. She has recently gone back to school to pursue her Masters of Fine Arts in Dance at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and plans to spend the rest of her life blissfully immersed in dance education.”

Sara has taken classes at Broadway Dance Center, Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop, Manhattan Dance Project, NYCDA, LADF and Showbiz conventions. She has also attended the Dance Teacher Magazine conference twice and the Broadway Dance Center Teacher workshop.
She has taken the Airborne Dance Team to Disneyland three times for performances and workshops and is getting ready to take them again in 2015. Sara has completed her beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes with Dance Educators of America and received her certification from them and is a current member of the DEA. Sara has spent the last nine years creating a syllabus for Airborne Dance including her own DanceBuilders preschool program. She specifically loves teaching Contemporary Jazz and Lyrical. “Kelsey Walsh started dancing and performing at the age of 4. Born and raised in Southern California, she trained with some wonderful teachers at the Vonder Haar Center for Performing Arts and completely fell in love with the art of dance. There she was given the opportunity to travel around to studios all over and take classes from some of the best as well as sing and dance her way through Hong Kong as part of the International Children’s Festival. She made her way to Colorado to study her main passion, Musical Theatre, at the University of Colorado Boulder and has since made this beautiful state her home. Over the years she has taught classes of all styles, choreographed and directed for different children’s theatre camps and worked for numerous after school dance programs. Kelsey knew she wanted to perform and teach and feels blessed to be living out that dream. She loves to share her passion with all her kids and watch them grow into wonderful individuals. The performing arts had so much to offer inside and outside the classroom and it’s her goal to pass that along to her students. She feels lucky to be a part of the Airborne family and can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
